Nitecool Cooler
Evaporative Cooling
This exciting new product is not air conditioning.
It possesses significantly more benefits to the occupants of
the vehicle cab than the established AC systems and is also
much simpler to install. There are none of the conventional
compressor / engine drive interfaces, nor does the installer
need specialist air conditioning knowledge or expensive
evacuation and charging equipment.
The environmentally friendly Nitecool range is an
evaporative cooling system that operates using water instead
of conventional CFC refrigerants. It is low maintenance,
easy to install, uses no fuel, is quiet in operation but the
most significant feature is, that it operates totally
independently of the vehicle engine. In consequence, the
installation of a Nitecool is an attractive option for those
vehicles that do not possess an air conditioning system but
in addition, is also a complimentary system where a
conventional engine driven system is already installed. In
this instance, the benefit is one of a “Night Cooler”. It
has long been established that providing the optimum
temperature in a vehicle cab is a major safety factor
through the enhancement of driver alertness and well being.
However until now, this has been limited to the time the
vehicle is being driven but it is equally important that the
driver’s comfort is maintained during rest periods, in order
to ensure that tiredness is overcome.
Now with the Nitecool the inside temperature of the cab
is maintained without the need to idle the engine, whilst
the vehicle is parked during loading and unloading
operations or overnight during driver’s rest periods. In
addition, security is maintained as the occupants can now
sleep in comfort during those hot nights without having to
leave windows open.

What kind of equipment / product is a
Webasto NiteCool?
The NiteCool is a Parking cooler that uses the principle
of water evaporation to cool down the air temperature in,
for example, a truck cabin
How does the evaporation of water cool down
my surrounding temperature?
By extracting heat (energy) from the air (atmosphere) the
water evaporates, due to the fact the heat from the air is
used for evaporation the surrounding temperature will
decrease.
What happens with the water?
The water that is evaporated ( the water damp) will mix
up with the air. So more moisten air ( humidity) is a side
effect of the evaporative cooling principle.
Can I use the NiteCool in every possible
climate and with every possible outside temperature ?
The NiteCool functions at it’s best
(concerning maximum cooling output) when the outside
temperatures are relatively high (enough heat to evaporate
the water) and in a atmosphere with a relatively low
humidity percentage. When the outside air is already moist
the cooling performance is reduced. However this is
generally proportional to the lower temperatures experienced
in this case.
